New book: The Next Generation of Scientists in Africa

The Centre for Research Evaluation, Science and Technology (CREST) at
Stellenbosch University (SU) is proud to announce the publication of a new
book, The Next Generation of Scientists in Africa, which is the result of an
international collaborative project between CREST and Polytechnique Montral.
The project was co-funded by the International Development Research Centre
(IDRC) in Canada, and the Robert Bosch Foundation in Germany. The editors are
Catherine Beaudry (Polytechnique
Montral), Johann Mouton and Heidi
Prozesky (SU). The book reveals the career aspirations
and research performance of scientists younger than 40 years across the
African continent. It highlights the barriers that are limiting their career
progression and makes recommendations to nurture research talent and deliver
future science leaders.
The Next Generation of Scientists in Africa costs R299 or can be downloaded
