2 postdoc positions in legal & social studies of biomedicine, University of Edinburgh
Following a £1m investment from the Wellcome Trust, this week The University of Edinburgh is formally launching the Centre for Biomedicine, Self, and Society. This brings together social scientists (Sarah Cunningham-Burley, Gill Haddow, Devi Sridhar and I) and law and humanities scholars (Sarah Chan, Graeme Laurie and Steve Sturdy), as outlined here: https://www.ed.ac.uk/usher/news-events/news-2017/centre-for-biomedicine-self-and-society.
Over the next few years we will be appointing six postdoctoral fellows (two-year contracts). The first two posts are now being advertised:
Expertise in socio-legal studies, bioethics, and STS will be particularly desirable for these positions. Those appointed will be closely mentored to support their ongoing research and future careers.
I would be very grateful if you could please circulate this message to early-career colleagues keen to undertake a mix of independent and collaborative research within an interdisciplinary environment. Thank you very much!
