<br>Please submit an abstract for a workshop, oral presentation, panel, or
<br>poster for the 2019 Science of Team Science (SciTS) Conference scheduled
<br>May 20-23, 2019 in Lansing, Michigan.  The submission deadline of Jan. 15,
<br>2019 is fast approaching and early submissions are welcome.

<br>Presenters in any category may have their abstracts considered for the
<br>Community
<br>Award for Outstanding Poster or Presentation, so be sure to make a
<br>pertinent selection when submitting your abstract.

<br>Oral papers provide authors the opportunity to present original work
<br>related to conference topics.
<br>
<br>   - Oral papers will have 15-minute time slots and be clustered by theme
<br>   into sessions. Each session will include three individual presentations
<br>and
<br>   time for questions from the audience.
<br>   - Extended abstract: Submissions should utilize the Abstract Template.
<br>   Proposals submitted in this category may represent original empirical
<br>   research, theoretical development, reviews, or critiques. The word limit
<br>   for abstracts of oral presentations is 500 words.
<br>
<br>
<br>
<br>*Research Posters *
<br>
<br>
<br>Our 90-minute poster session provides an interactive forum for authors to
<br>discuss their work.
<br>
<br>   - Submissions may represent original empirical research, theoretical
<br>   development, or reviews.
<br>   - Poster submissions should use the Abstract Template format, noting the
<br>   word limit for posters is 200 words.
<br>   - All individual submissions will be considered for poster presentation
<br>   if not accepted for their original submission type.
<br>

<br>
<br>*Panel Presentation*
<br>
<br>
<br>Panel presentations provide authors the option to organize a panel
<br>comprising three related presentations.
<br>
<br>
<br>   - Panel sessions will be 90 minutes long, with 45 minutes for
<br>   presentations and 45 minutes for discussion.
<br>   - A panel presentation abstract should use the Abstract Template format
<br>   and must include an abstract summarizing the overall theme, as well as
<br>   individual abstracts for each presentation included in the panel. The
<br>   combined word limit for these abstracts is 1,000 words.
<br>   - Panel presentation abstracts that bring together experts for
<br>   interactive discussion should describe questions the panel will address
<br>   list any underlying matters to be discussed, and include bios for each
<br>   panelist.
<br>

<br>

<br>
<br>*Workshops*
<br>
<br>The SciTS Program Committee invites submissions from individuals or groups
<br>to conduct Special Interest Workshops and Seminars. Workshops and seminars
<br>will be 3 hours in length. All topics relevant to application of Science of
<br>Team Science approaches are welcome, including training sessions that will
<br>equip SciTS investigators with tools and technical skills for data
<br>collection, analysis, or presentation in their research areas. We strongly
<br>encourage workshop or seminar proposals that incorporate a variety of
<br>instructional approaches (e.g., lecture, interactive discussion, hands-on
<br>exercises) and materials (e.g., slides, handouts, sample data). We also
<br>invite workshops or seminars with a focus on methodologies including
<br>systems approaches to the field of SciTS as well as methodologies for
<br>conducting evaluation and understanding team dynamics. Furthermore, we
<br>welcome workshops and seminars that provide practical guidance for
<br>conducting and managing team science in a variety of contexts and settings,
<br>as well workshops with a focus on developing resources for team science
<br>education and training.
<br>

<br>
<br>Proposals should be limited to *1,000 words *(not including biographical
<br>sketches) and include the following information:
<br>
<br>   - Proposed title and organizers (all names, affiliations, email; one
<br>   primary contact person)
<br>   - Description of workshop: objectives (at least three), goals, and
<br>   expected outcomes
<br>   - Statement regarding how the workshop can benefit SciTS attendees
<br>   - Description of target audience and estimated number of participants
<br>   (minimum and maximum)
<br>   - Proposed workshop format, activities, and schedule
<br>   - Any special A/V needs
<br>   - Short biographical sketch for each presenter, describing relevant
<br>   experience and qualifications (not included in page limit)
<br>

<br>thriving community.

<br>*Community Award for Outstanding Poster *
<br>
<br>The community of conference attendees for the 2019 conference hosted by
<br>Michigan State University will vote for 4 outstanding poster awards in the
<br>following categories
<br>
<br>   - Early/Emerging Career, practice or applied research
<br>      - Early/Emerging Career, theoretical or basic research
<br>      - Established Career, practice or applied research contribution
<br>      - Established Career, theoretical or basic research contribution
<br>
<br>To be eligible for this award, you must indicate on the proposal submission
<br>that you wish to be included in the competition. Attendees will vote during
<br>the poster session to determine poster awards.
<br>

<br>
<br>*Outstanding Presentation*
<br>
<br>The ability to communicate our work to others is an essential part of the
<br>science of team science field across roles and career stages. To be
<br>eligible for this award as well, you must indicate on the proposal
<br>submission that you wish to be included in this competition. SciTS Abstract
<br>Reviewers will nominate pertinent abstracts, and the SciTS Planning
<br>Committee will judge them based on originality, significance, and ability
<br>to successfully communicate ideas in an engaging way.
