Reminder: PhD Position (STS, University of Vienna), Project: Valuing, Being and Knowing in Life Science Research (applications until 13th Jan)

*PhD Position (75%) (STS, University of Vienna)*

/How are the ways in which researchers are evaluated - and what they
value in their work - entangled with who they aim to be as researchers,
and with the directions they choose in their research? This is the
central questions of the project “Valuing, Being, Knowing.”
(01/2019-06/2023) the position is part of. /

Following a participatory research approach, we will accompany two life
science research groups (most likely research groups following questions
of environmental relevance and food security) and trace the situated
entanglements of what researchers aim to know, what they value in their
research and who they aim to be as researchers.

The position offers the opportunity to work in an experienced team that
has a strong orientation to contributing to the international scientific
debate. Further, it is an opportunity of writing a PhD thesis with full
integration in the Department of Science and Technology Studies at the
University of Vienna that offers a rich environment for mutual exchange
with international colleagues.

The project is funded by the Austrian Science Fund (FWF). Project
leaders are Maximilian Fochler und Lisa Sigl. Further information on the
