2 Postdoc Positions in STS and related fields at MCTS (extended deadline 15 July)
Dear colleagues,
It seems that these two postdoc positions have not been advertised on this
mailing list yet (not to be confused with similar

sounding

openings at
MCTS; for an overview see the RSS feed for job postings
).

The deadline has been extended until *15 July*. Please apply as soon as you
can, if you are interested, and circulate widely!

Best,
Alex
Researcher Positions at the MCTS (Akademische Ratsstellen)

*15.07.2018*
------------------------------

The Munich Center for Technology in Society (MCTS) at the Technical
University of Munich is now seeking two post-doctoral researchers for the
following part-time or full-time positions, available immediately and
funded for one year (with an option for extension until 2022):
Akademische Rätinnen/Akademische Räte a. Z. (A13)

*About us *
The Munich Center for Technology in Society (MCTS) is a cross-faculty
integrative research center dedicated to understanding and reflexively
shaping the multiple interactions between science, technology and society.
By ad-dressing the pressing challenges of technoscientific developments,
the MCTS engages in interdisciplinary re-search, teaching and dialogue. It
does so by initiating conversations and collaborations between the social
sci-ences, humanities, natural sciences, and engineering.

*Requirements *
Applicants are expected to hold a doctoral degree. Ideally, they are
qualified in both the social sciences or human-ities as well as a STEM
field. Knowledge and skills in the field of Science and Technology Studies,
especially with regard to issues of responsibility, are beneficial.
Furthermore, applicants should be motivated to teach and work
self-dependently and actively participate in the discourses at the MCTS.
This job advertisement is aimed at quali-fied candidates currently working
at natural science / technical TUM departments as well as external
candidates committed to promoting interdisciplinary communication and
cooperation between the MCTS and other TUM facul-ties.

*Job profile *
The master’s program “Responsibility in Science, Engineering and
Technology” (M.A. RESET) offered by the MCTS addresses both the technical
and social aspects of responsibility in today’s highly technologized
societies. It provides students with knowledge in STEM fields and trains
them to systematically analyze questions of responsibility regarding the
social, political, ethical and environmental impacts of science and
technology. The primary task of the advertised position is to foster this
mission by developing innovative teaching formats in collaboration with
other TUM de-partments.

*We offer *
The MCTS offers an excellent and inspiring international research
environment in which researchers can refine and consolidate their profile.
It provides many forms of dialogue both with the scientific community as
well as the general public and gives researchers access to various
promising career pathways. The position includes the pos-sibility to
qualify as a postdoctoral lecturer (habilitation or habilitation-equivalent
achievement), the traditional route to obtaining a professorship in
Germany. Part-time employment is possible. The university is committed to
raising the number of women in research and teaching. Female researchers
are especially encouraged to apply. Appli-cants with disabilities are
treated with preference given comparable qualification.

*Application *
Applications should be submitted as one single pdf document including a
letter of motivation, CV, certificates and a draft for a potential seminar.

*Application deadline: 15 July 2018*
Please e-mail your complete application to: bewerbung@mcts.tum.de.
If you have specific questions about the application procedure, please
contact bewerbung@mcts.tum.de.

*Technische Universität München*
Munich Center for Technology in Society (MCTS)
Geschäftsführung Jennifer Apel
Augustenstraße 46, 80333 München
Tel. +49 89 289 29208
jennifer.apel@tum.de
www.mcts.tum.de
www.tum.de
------------------------------
Files: Researcher_Positions_Akad._Ratsstellen_MCTS_2018_Verl.pdf

124
K
_______________________________________________
EASST's Eurograd mailing list
Eurograd (at) lists.easst.net
Unsubscribe or edit subscription options: http://lists.easst.net/listinfo.cgi/eurograd-easst.net

Meet us via https://twitter.com/STSeasst

Report abuses of this list to Eurograd-owner@lists.easst.netview formatted text
