Postdoc vacancy, MPI History of Science, Berlin
The Max Planck Institute for the History of Science, Berlin,
Max Planck Research Group Historical Epistemology of the Final Theory Program,
headed by Dr. Alexander Blum, is seeking
One Postdoctoral Fellow, starting date: as early as 01 March 2020,
for one year, with employment contract and the possibility of extension by an
additional year.
The position is closely related to the research agenda of the group
(http://www.mpiwg-berlin.mpg.de/en/research/projects/historical-epistemology-
final-theory-program). The research group pursues interdisciplinary research
at the intersection of history of science and physics. We are seeking an
outstanding junior scholar with a background in physics, history of physics,
or philosophy of physics.
At the time the position begins, candidates should hold a doctorate in one of
these fields (PhD achieved in 2016 or later).
The Max Planck Institute for the History of Science is an international and
interdisciplinary research institute
(http://www.mpiwg-berlin.mpg.de/en/index.html). Postdoctoral fellows are
expected to participate in the research activities of the Institute, and to
present their own work and discuss that of others fluently in English.

The position is primarily devoted to research, with no teaching obligations.
Remuneration is based on the TVD-Bund pay scales (E13). Candidates of all
