CALL FOR CONTRIBUTIONS

ACI2020: the 7th International Conference on Animal-Computer Interaction
10-12 November, Milton Keynes, UK

In co-operation with ACM (Association for Computing Machinery) and SIGCHI
(Special interest Group on Computer-Human Interaction)

www.aciconf.org
#aci2020conf

ABOUT
ACI is the main International Conference on Animal-Computer Interaction. It
is a highly multidisciplinary event drawing researchers and practitioners
from the most diverse backgrounds to share and discuss work and topics
related to the research and design of technology for and with animals.

COVID-19 update
Due to the ongoing pandemic, it will be possible to register to attend the
conference virtually for a reduced fee (go to
http://www.aciconf.org/aci2020/attendees for more details). Submission
deadlines for all tracks remain unchanged, but for papers and workshops the
submission requirements have changed to ensure that authors can submit
their work and present it at the conference in spite of the disruption
caused by the pandemic (follow the links below to see the submission and
presentation requirements for each track).

SUBMISSION DATES

- Full and short papers
May
31, 2020 (extended abstracts)
- Workshop proposals
May
31, 2020 (physical and virtual events)
- Videoposters and demos
August 14,
2020 (abstracts and videos)
- Doctoral consortium

August
21, 2020 (abstracts and letters)

All submissions will undergo a double blind review and will be selected
based on the quality of their contribution. Accepted papers will be published in the
ACI2020 Conference Proceedings Volume which will be *published in the ACM
Digital Library*.

The ACI2020 submission portal
is now open. When you get
there, under the 'Society' menu choose SIGCHI, then under the
'Conference/Journal' menu choose ACI2020 and the appropriate track for your
submission.

THEME & TOPICS
This year's conference theme is ‘embodied dialogues’. Although
specifically
focussed, the theme is very broad in the connections that can be made from
multiple angles, in order to encourage engagement with and contributions to
the conference from a wide range of multidisciplinary and interdisciplinary
perspectives. Submissions that relate to this year's conference theme are
especially welcome, but high quality submissions are welcome regardless.
Topics may include (but are not limited to):

- support interspecies communication
- improve humans’ understanding of other animals and their needs
- enable humans to take better care of other animals
- support animals in activities they do for humans
- reduce interspecies conflicts and the impact of human activity on
animals
- foster ecologically and ethically sustainable forms of interspecies
interaction and cohabitation.
- studying and theorizing the interaction between animals and technology
in naturalistic settings
- developing user-centered technology to improve animals’ welfare,
support animals' activities and foster interspecies relationships
- informing animal-centered approaches that enable animals to
participate in the design process as stakeholders and contributors.
_______________________________________________
EASST's Eurograd mailing list
Eurograd (at) lists.easst.net
Unsubscribe or edit subscription options: http://lists.easst.net/listinfo.cgi/eurograd-easst.net

Meet us via https://twitter.com/STSeasst

Report abuses of this list to Eurograd-owner@lists.easst.netview formatted text
