Digital health platforms workshop funded by FSH&I at the University of Sussex
Existing studies have taken a critical perspective towards the economic and technical function of digital health platforms, often at the expense of the social and educational value they can create. There needs to be an appreciation that platforms vary in purpose and function and that there is scope for them to produce societal value that is orientated towards the improvement of healthcare delivery and of clinical practice in developed and developing countries.

In the light of this, we are organising a workshop, ‘Exploring the educational value of digital health platforms’ on the 16th of September at the University of Sussex Business School to:
· Discuss the organisation and function of digital health platforms and of their purposes;
· Explore and compare the different ways in which online health education is delivered by platforms; and
· Identify and discuss a range of effects (on clinical practice and quality of care, health benefits, knowledge development, capacity building etc.) online health education delivered via platforms has on the recipient professionals, organisations, countries and societies at large.

Confirmed keynotes:
* Dr. James Munro, Chief Executive, Care Opinion
* Ms. Clare Woods, Chief Operations Officer, MedicineAfrica
Confirmed speakers:
* Dr. Roberta Bernardi, University of Bristol
* Prof Niki Panteli, Royal Holloway University of London
* Dr. Paula Saukko, Loughborough University
* Dr. Niccolò Tempini, University of Exeter
* Dr. Stefania Vicari, University of Sheffield

Please get your free ticket here: https://uos-digital-health-platforms-tickets.eventbrite.co.uk

The workshop will offer five bursaries to cover the travel expenses of UK-based PhD students interested in this topic. To express an interest please send a CV and a brief statement to the organisers, Dr Dimitra Petrakaki and Dr Petros Chamakiotis

This workshop is supported by funding from the Foundation for the Sociology of Health and Illness.
_______________________________________________
EASST's Eurograd mailing list
Eurograd (at) lists.easst.net
Unsubscribe or edit subscription options: http://lists.easst.net/listinfo.cgi/eurograd-easst.net

Meet us via https://twitter.com/STSeasst

Report abuses of this list to Eurograd-owner@lists.easst.netview formatted text
